Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy will not be fined for the low hit that resulted in Joe Flacco’s knee injury, the NFL confirmed Friday. Flacco suffered a sprained MCL, but he was expected to play Sunday against the Patriots.

The Ravens sent the play to the league office to be review, feeling the hit was a violation of “The Brady Rule”, designed to protect quarterbacks from being hit low in the pocket while throwing. However, Levy likely escaped a fine because Ravens guard A. Q. Shipley pushed Levy toward Flacco on the way to making contact to the quarterback.
