Once Michael Oher arrived in Tennessee on Friday, it did not take him long to become an ex-Raven. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Oher signed a four-year, $20 million contract with the Titans with $9.5 million guaranteed, ending his five-year stay with the Ravens.
A native of Memphis, Oher won a Super Bowl with the Ravens and never missed a game. However, he never became the standout offensive lineman the Ravens expected when they made him a 2009 first-round draft choice. Oher was the starting right tackle last season, but by the end of the season, the Ravens had decided to move in a different direction.
The Ravens will look to replace Oher through the draft or free agency, or with someone on their roster. Meanwhile, the Titans will hope that Oher’s return to his home state will help bring out his best.
