BALTIMORE - Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson left the game early in the second quarter Sunday after suffering an ankle injury. It was hard to tell exactly what happened to Peterson, but he was writhing in pain on the ground after being tackled by linebacker Arthur Brown of the Ravens.
Peterson was helped to his feet after about a minute, but he had to be assisted to the bench, and was putting very little weight on his injured left leg. Peterson was carted to the locker room to be evaluated further and will not return.
Peterson entered the game leading the NFL in rushing, and he has made a remarkable comeback after suffering a torn ACL and MCL on Christmas Eve, 2011.
