Harbaugh on next year's improvements

(John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports)

What: Allstate Sugar Bowl

Who: Alabama vs. Oklahoma

When: Thursday, 8:30 p.m., ESPN

Player to watch: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama.

Why he fits: Kouandjio, an underclassman, says he is 50-50 to enter the draft. If he does, he could be the first tackle taken. He might be gone by the time the Ravens pick 16th or 17th, but plenty will change with draft rankings between now and May. The Ravens are unlikely to re-sign free agent right tackle Michael Oher, and left tackle Eugene Monroe will be a free agent. Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome is an Alabama guy. If the Ravens could get their hands on a talented, 6-foot-6, 310-pound tackle like Kouandjio, it would be an upgrade to their line.

Player to watch: C. J. Mosley ILB, Alabama

Why he fits: A sure tackler who pursues the ball well. The Ravens’ best inside linebacker, Daryl Smith, will be a free agent. Mosley is another first-round prospect who could be gone before the Ravens have a chance to grab him. However, some quarterback-needy teams are picking ahead of the Ravens, and if Mosley falls to them, he could help their defense.
