Suggs, Ravens not getting ahead of themselves
If the Ravens had a game Sunday, they’d have 19 players listed as questionable.
Fortunately for them, Friday’s injury report is nothing short of a farce.
They’re healthier than they've been at any time this season. Only two Ravens, Dannell Ellerbe (ankle/back) and Dennis Pitta (thigh), missed practice time as both were held out Friday.
Even though there's not a game on tap, the NFL requires the Super Bowl teams to release an injury report with the game status of players as if there were playing this Sunday. The Ravens and San Francisco 49ers don’t meet until Feb. 3 in New Orleans.
On the Ravens’ report: LB Ellerbe, TE Pitta, WR Anquan Boldin (shoulder), DT Terrence Cody (foot), WR Tandon Doss (ankle), S James Ihedigbo (knee), CB Asa Jackson (thigh), FB Vonta Leach (knee/ankle), LB Ray Lewis (triceps), LB Albert McClellan (shoulder), DE Pernell McPhee (thigh), DT Haloti Ngata (knee), RB Bernard Pierce (knee), S Bernard Pollard (ribs), WR David Reed (thigh), S Ed Reed (shoulder), CB Jimmy Smith (abdominals), LB Terrell Suggs (Achilles/biceps) and G Marshal Yanda (shoulder).
The 49ers listed TE Garrett Celek (foot) as questionable and 11 others as probable, including LB Patrick Willis (shoulder), LB Aldon Smith (shoulder), LB Navorro Bowman (shoulder), RB Frank Gore (ankle/shoulder) and DT Justin Smith (triceps).
