The Ravens found amazing success last year at home. They won all eight of their regular-season games before beating Houston in a tough AFC playoff contest that put the Ravens into the conference title game in New England.
But they didnt fare quite as well on the road, just splitting their eight regular-season games and losing up north against the Patriots.
The bottom line is the Ravens finished 9-0 at home and 4-5 on the road, counting the playoffs. Thats a big difference and something the Ravens want to try and adjust to, something theyll address with Sundays road opener up in Philadelphia.
The curious part of last years schedule is the Ravens scored a number of tough victories at home but lost to teams they should have beaten Tennessee, Jacksonville, Seattle and others on the road.
But the Eagles will give the Ravens a very good test Sunday. Philadelphia is coming off a very poor performance last week in Cleveland especially thanks to Michael Vicks four interceptions against a stubborn Browns team.
The Ravens need to understand whats coming in Philly.
We know that this is their home opener, Ray Lewis said when talking to the media earlier this week. We know its going to be loud, its going to be rowdy, and they are going to be ready to play. We cant look at last week and say they are going to play as bad as they played against the Browns. No, I dont think that at all. I think we are going to get everything they have as Philadelphia Eagles.
The Ravens havent had trouble with games like that when opponents come to Baltimore to play. Now, can the Ravens turn things around and find just as much success on the road?
Thats going to be one of this years big questions.
