The word seems to be out -- the Ravens are officially going to open the 2013 season in Denver.
Since they can't open at home due to scheduling issues with the Orioles, the Ravens have to hit the road. Jason La Canfora of CBS tweeted the news this morning that the Ravens will meet Denver in a Thursday night game.
That's not exactly a surprise as many had kind of felt this was the game the NFL would want. But that appears to be what it is going to be:
The Ravens will open the 2013 season at Denver in a Thurs night kickoff. Full NFL schedule to be released tonight— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) April 18, 2013
The rest of the NFL schedule is going to be out tonight, so it's going to be interesting to see how the start of the season pans out. Last year, the Ravens played four games in just 17 days, something that appeared to affect the team later on.
The NFL wanted the Ravens to open at home on a Thursday night, but the Orioles already had been scheduled to play a night game, and the details to move the time couldn't be worked out.
