The Baltimore Ravens have signed free agent running back Bernard Scott.
Scott was originally drafted in the sixth round (209th overall) by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2009. Scott spent four seasons with the Bengals before being released on Sept. 17.
In 47 career games (three starts), the 5-10, 195-pounder has 255 career rushes for 1,035 yards (4.1 avg.) and 4 TDs, adding 29 receptions for 165 yards. Scott, who also spent time as the Bengals’ kickoff returner, has 73 career returns for 1,787 yards (24.5 avg.) and one touchdown.
In two collegiate seasons at Abilene Christian (2007-08), Scott became the school’s all-time leading rusher, recording 4,321 yards and scoring 73 touchdowns (63 rushing and 10 receiving). In 2008, he was named the Harlon Hill Award winner as the top player in NCAA Division II football.
