Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis took a break from his rehabilitation in Florida to make a quick trip to Pittsburgh.

Lewis, on injured reserve with a torn triceps, joined the team this weekend at its hotel and will be on the sideline Sunday night at Heinz Field when the Ravens (7-2) and Steelers (6-3) face off in a big AFC North showdown.  Like he would miss it.

Lewis is one of several central figures in the Ravens-Steelers rivalry who will not be playing Sunday night because of injury. In addition, the Steelers are missing quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (ribs, shoulder), receiver Antonion Brown (ankle) and safety Troy Polamalu (calf), and the Ravens are missing cornerbacks Lardarius Webb (knee) and Jimmy Smith (sports hernia) in addition to Lewis.

Lewis also joined the team last week in Baltimore and gave the on-field pep talk at the end of warmups before the Ravens’ 55-20 win over the Raiders.

Here’s guessing he has another such talk planned for the latest installment of this classic rivalry.
