Ravens will have questions-but not yet

The Ravens know they're going to have to answer some questions and make decisions about what their 2013 team is going to look like. There's no choice because that's life in the NFL these days.

Ray Lewis is retiring; he's got to be replaced. How do you replace a legend? Should they keep Dannell Ellerbe to do it? These are all issues that the Ravens are going to need to deal with.

But not just yet.

It's too soon.

World Championships don't come every day. So when they do, everyone needs to take time to enjoy them. The Ravens are going to tackle all of these issues soon -- it's the way of the NFL world -- but for now they're going to bask in the glow of another Super Bowl victory.

It's interesting to try and see how this Ravens team won the title when the defense clearly wasn't as good as last year. They gave up 468 yards of total offense to the 49ers in the Super Bowl. They gave up yards in bunches throughout the season.

But the Ravens were able to make stops in the red zone, something they did all season long. That proved to be a crucial part of their equation this year. Plus, the offense became a big-play unit. That might have been the key turning point. It's something the Ravens hadn't been able to do on a consistent basis for a very long time.

The Ravens will need to decide to bring back or bring on defense as they are going to lose some players from this team. That's just the NFL. They won't have much trouble getting players to come to Baltimore to play here; it's going to be the last of their concerns.

The Ravens are going to address all of this stuff.

Just not quite yet.
