Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey (foot injury) will not play Thursday against the Ravens, according to the Denver Post.
Bailey’s absence is not a surprise, considering his inability to practice on Monday and Tuesday. However, losing Bailey is another significant defensive loss for the Broncos, who will also be without suspended linebacker Von Miller.
Look for Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco to test backup cornerback Chris Harris, or whoever starts in place of Bailey. Flacco throws the deep ball as well as any quarterback in the NFL, and the Ravens have speed receivers in Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones. Baltimore enjoyed success throwing downfield against the Broncos during last year’s playoffs. Without Bailey and Miller, the Broncos’ defense could be vulnerable Thursday night.
