Reason for concern for the Ravens?
The Ravens will workout former Giants and Patriots tight end Jake Ballard on Monday, according to Fox Sports.
A search for improvement at the tight end position for the Ravens would hardly be a surprise. Dallas Clark dropped what should have been a touchdown pass Thursday night, and his numbers (seven catches, 87 yards) looked far better than his performance. Ed Dickson was worse – one catch for 13 yards, despite being targeted five times. Dickson had his hands on four other attempts that he failed to corral.
Ballard is only 25 years old, and had 38 catches for 604 yards and four touchdowns for the Giants in 2011. However, Ballard tore his ACL in Super Bowl XLVI, and the Patriots released Ballard during the preseason. Whether Ballard can help the Ravens or not, they are apparently looking for help.
