Ravens' offense needs Ray Rice back

The Ravens have reason to be optimistic that both Ray Rice (hip) and Chris Canty (groin) will play Sunday against the Bills.

Rice was in the locker room in good spirits Wednesday, walking without a limp, and planned to test his hip during practice. Coach John Harbaugh said the plan was to get Rice on the field during Wednesday’s session.

Canty said he would also practice Wednesday. Both Rice and Canty missed Sunday’s victory over the Texans.

“I’m going to run around a bit with the guys, try to make sure I see as much of the first and second down plan that we have, and go from there,” Canty said. “Coach Harbaugh and the training staff thought it was in the best interest to hold me (out) last week. That decision was made, and I agree with that decision. Hopefully I’ll have an opportunity to be out on the field Sunday. I feel pretty good. It’s a day-by-day situation, but I’m excited about getting back on that practice field today, being with the guys.”
