Could it be more steak, less Sizzle?

The Ravens’ normally irrepressible linebacker, Terrell Suggs, has been mostly reserved with the media as the team has rumbled through the postseason. There was an exception after Sunday’s victory over the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, when he called the Pats “arrogant,” but that didn’t signal the return of the old T-Sizzle, dean of Ball So Hard University.

An article in The Wall Street Journal still referred to Suggs as “The Biggest Mouth in Maryland,” though that had mostly to do with how vocal he is on the field during games and around his teammates. Suggs likes to shout out random lines from movies, with last week’s being “find Costello’s rat” from “The Departed.” (Here’s a clip with the line, which we won’t try to explain. Just see the movie. Do it Sunday. It’s better than watching the Pro Bowl.)

However, a piece by Jeff Zrebiec in The Sun on Saturday chronicled the quieter Suggs.

“I don’t really have to say anything to them,” Suggs said Friday in response to a question about “naysayers” from the media, as reported by The Sun. “The fact that we’re the last two teams playing says it all. We’re just going to keep chucking and keep our eyes on the prize. One more to go.”

Asked about the feeling of accomplishment that comes with making the Super Bowl after he has come back from an off-season Achilles tendon injury and then an in-season torn biceps, Suggs replied: “Ask me that question on Feb. 4.” (That’s the day after the Super Bowl, for the calendar-challenged.)

If he keeps that up, Suggs will become known as T-Snoozle.
