Who would Josh Gordon prefer to be the guy throwing passes at him next season? Guess it depends on what day you ask.

The Cleveland Browns’ stat machine of a wide receiver gave different answers when asked recently about whom the club should pick among the top quarterbacks in this year’s draft.

A couple of weeks ago on ESPN, he said Johnny Manziel "seems to be the top guy on my list right now." The Texas A&M star would "bring a whole different dynamic," Gordon said.

"We have guys like Russell Wilson now, shorter quarterbacks. You see Drew Brees doing it," Gordon said. "Johnny seems that much more mobile, if anything. He seems to elude defenders a whole lot better.”

Last week, while speaking to NFL.com, Gordon handicapped the Browns’ selection differently, ESPN.com reported. He left out Manziel while speaking highly of Blake Bortles, Teddy Bridgewater and Derek Carr.

Talking about Bridgewater, Gordon said: “He’s been real good on the field.” And then, pressed to choose one for the Browns, Gordon picked Bridgewater.

ESPN.com’s Pat McManamon offered a few guesses on Gordon’s vacillating, including this: “Gordon might not have a clue who he likes, and like some players sometimes do, might just be saying what he thinks people want to hear.”

Whoever the quarterback is, he is sure to be glad that his new team has a big (6 feet 4, 220 pounds), fast receiver who had 87 catches, 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns last season.
