How the Ravens Dean Pees prepares for the Bills

EARLY BIRD: Waking up with the Ravens on Saturday, as they travel to upstate New York for Sunday’s game against the Bills.

Two-minute topic: Will the Ravens be a solid road team this season?

The Ravens’ only road game was not even close – a 49-27 loss to the Broncos.

Peyton Manning won’t be playing against the Ravens on Sunday, so their job should be easier. However, it will be interesting to see how the Ravens perform at Buffalo (1-2). It would be a mistake to take winning for granted. All of the Bills’ games have been decided by seven points or less.

The Ravens (2-1) have started slowly in their past two games, and if they fall behind Sunday they will be flirting with danger. Mistakes are also magnified on the road, so it will be important for the Ravens to avoid turnovers and penalties.

Having gone two games without allowing a touchdown, the Ravens have played extremely well defensively. They have washed away the nasty taste of being blown out in Denver. However, are the Ravens ready to win on the road? Sunday will answer that question.

Morning thought: “We’re not going to be a great defense if we don’t get the ball off people, whether it be caused fumbles (or) whether it be interceptions.”

Ravens defensive coordinator Dean Pees, talking about Daryl Smith’s interception being the only turnover caused by the Ravens’ defense this season.
