Reason for concern for the Ravens?
Ravens coach John Harbaugh commented Monday on the team’s decision to re-sign wide receiver Tandon Doss.
“It helps to have a guy that’s been here, certainly,” Harbaugh said. “You can bring someone back like Tandon who knows the offense and is ready to plug right in and play. There’s no teaching we have to do.”
Doss was cut by the Ravens last month and recently worked out with the Packers. A fourth-round draft pick in 2011, Doss was beaten out by Marlon Brown, Aaron Mellette, and Brandon Stokley during training camp and the preseason.
Doss only caught seven passes for 123 yards in 2012, so his return could hardly be considered a solution to the Ravens’ wide receiver woes. However, Doss can return both kickoffs and punts - something the Ravens need with Jacoby Jones expected to be sidelined for four-to-six weeks with a knee injury.
