Whether Bernard Pollard will play or not remains in question.
Pollard, who injured his ribs in last weeks 24-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, didnt practice for the Ravens on Wednesday.
Neither did defensive end Pernell McPhee (knee), cornerback Lardarius Webb (knee), Jameel McClain (knee) or tackle Jah Reid (calf). Paul Kruger, a starting outside linebacker who missed the Eagles game with a back injury, had limited participation along with tackle Michael Oher who has been slowed by a sore ankle.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who will face the Ravens on Sunday, has seen quite a bit of Pollard over the years. In 2008, Brady tore a ligament in his left knee as he was hit by Pollard when he played for the Kansas City Chiefs.
He can blitz, plays well in the run game, covers man-to-man, plays in the deep part of the field, Brady said. He made an incredible play against us in the (AFC) championship game last year so I have a lot of respect for him as a player and as a competitor.
The play Brady is referring to is a deep throw from midfield into the end zone with just more than seven minutes left in the game. Pollard extended to tip a pass to teammate Jimmy Smith for an interception that kept the Ravens alive.
As for any lingering hard feelings about the hit four years ago, Brady chalks it up to being an accident. Pollard, who embraces the nickname Bonecrusher, was on the ground and came up to grab Bradys leg as he threw the ball.
Hes always made plays against us, Brady said. What happened years ago was an accident.
