And then there was one.

The top-seeded Maryland women are the final local team left in the NCAA lacrosse tournament. Loyola's men and women both lost, as did Towson's men and women. The Navy women also fell this weekend.

But the Maryland women advanced to the next round, which will take place Saturday. A win will give the Terps (20-0) a fifth straight trip to the NCAA Final Four.

The semifinals and finals are going to be held at Villanova. Maryland handed Duke a 15-6 loss when the teams met earlier this season.

This Saturday's game is set for noon at Maryland.

The Terrapins can do a lot on offense. That's could be their big plus in the final rounds as Maryland can score a lot of points on a lot of ways.. Alex Aust (112 points),  Katie Schwarzmann (76 points) and Taylor Cummings (50 points) all give the offense a spark.

Maryland's offense is too powerful for most teams. The Terrapins are so strong on offense that it takes pressure off the defense, and Stony Brook tried hard to slow things down in Sunday's game, but Maryland eventually got going en route to an 11-3 win.

The Maryland men's loss to Cornell was somewhat surprising, considering the game was in College Park and that the Big Red pulled out a 16-8 victory.

For the Terps, they had reached the national championship game each of the past two years.
