Three-star local offensive lineman Ellis McKennie has committed to Maryland, the rising senior announced via his Twitter page on Wednesday evening.

At 6-3, 285 pounds, the guard from McDonogh School (Md.) is ranked as the 30th best player in the nation at his position 13th best player in the state. He becomes the third player in head coach Randy Edsall's 2015 class, joining fellow offensive lineman E.J. Donahue and running back Deltron Sands.

Maryland has made it a priority to bolster its offensive line over the past two recruiting classes. Five-star prospect Damian Prince rounded out the program's 2014 class, meanwhile the one-year suspension of Moise LaRose and the academic issues of junior college transfer Larry Mazyck have stunted Maryland's plan for growth on that unit.
