Randy Edsall's keys for the match up against FSU
Maryland was expecting the long awaited return of wide receiver Tyrek Cheeseboro for this weekend's showdown against eighth ranked Florida State, but it appears both he and the Terps will have to wait just a little longer.
The redshirt sophmore suffered a concussion as a result of a bicycle accident early Tuesday morning, according to head coach Randy Edsall, and has been listed as 'out' on the team's injury report for Saturday's game.
“He’s lucky [that it wasn't more serious],” Edsall said of the injury, via The Washington Post. “He’s lucky. He’s a fortunate young man. I think sometimes with situations like that, being an athlete, being in that kind of condition that he was in, I think that helped. But he’s very lucky.”
The Baltimore native was known for playing a valuable role on special teams last season, making his name as a speedy gunner who excelled at covering kickoff and punt returns. However, a series of injuries -- including a previous concussion -- have prevented him from returning to action so far in 2013.
