Maryland starting quarterback C.J. Brown left Saturday's game vs. Florida State after suffering an injury during the second quarter in Tallahassee.
Brown was injured after throwing a long pass attempt in the direction of receiver Nigel King. He was wrapped up by a defender and hit from another direction by Florida State's Jacobbi McDaniel.
McDaniel hit Brown in the chest and did not draw a penalty on the play.
Brown remained on the field in pain as he was being attended to by trainers. He was then lifted to his feet and walked slowly into the tunnel under his own power.

According to the game's broadcast crew, Brown will not return on Saturday vs. Florida State and has been taken in for X-rays. The Maryland athletic training staff did not specify what type of X-rays Brown would undergo.

According to reports from head coach Randy Edsall's postgame press conference, Brown suffered a concussion and will be evaluated further to determine his status for next week's game vs. Virginia.
