What took place between Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart and a Texas Tech fan on Saturday night in Lubbock was nearly unavoidable once it happened.

Smart, careening into the crowd after a block attempt late in Oklahoma State's loss to the Red Raiders, shoved a fan after it appeared that the fan said something to the star sophomore.

Video of the incident played on a nearly continuous loop on social media and television for the next 24 hours. A three-game suspension followed for Smart.

On Sunday evening following the announcement of the suspension, Maryland guard Dez Wells weighed in with his thoughts via his Twitter page:

Wells is Maryland's leading scorer, averaging 15.2 points per game. The Terrapins take on Virginia on Monday night in Charlottesville.
