Former DeMatha (Md.) and Maryland standout Kenny Tate has been cut by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun is reporting.

Tate, who has been forced to work through knee troubles and surgery to repair the injury, was an All-ACC performer in 2010 with Maryland when he registered 100 tackles and three interceptions at the safety position.

As a senior in 2012, he tallied 42 tackles, including four sacks. He was not selected in that year's NFL Draft and went unsigned thereafter.
