With the departure of coach Bill O'Brien to the NFL's Houston Texans and the hiring of former Vanderbilt coach James Franklin, it appeared Maryland might have an opportunity to jump back in on some recruits that they had missed the first time around.
Chief among them was Gilman (Md.) cornerback Troy Vincent, a three-star player who would fill a need in the secondary. Vincent played on the same team as quarterback Kai Locksley, the son of Maryland offensive coordinator Mike Locksley.
But according to a report, that door has closed, as Vincent has flipped his commitment from Penn State to North Carolina State, as reported by Bruce Feldman of CBSSports.com.
