Turgeon bans Christmas before game vs. BU
COLLEGE PARK--Last week he was shooting around with a walking boot on his foot. This week, it's gone.
Injured Maryland guard Seth Allen shot around with his teammates without the aid of a protective boot on Saturday afternoon before the Terrapins were set to face Boston University at Comcast Center in College Park.
Allen took mostly jump shots with some light dribbling and movement worked into the mix. He took no hard cuts and did no formal drills with the team. At the conclusion of warmups, he jogged back to the locker room with his team.
Allen, who has been out since early November after undergoing surgery to repair a broken foot, underwent an X-ray last Thursday to assess his progress. Coach Mark Turgeon said last week that the timeline for his return remains the same as what it was when the procedure took place.
That 8-10 week recovery period would put Allen back in the lineup after the turn of the new year when the bulk of the ACC schedule begins. Allen is now in the seventh week of his recovery.
“Every report I hear, he’s doing great, staying in shape, staying away from McDonald’s,” Turgeon said last week. “He looks good.”
