Maryland to face Arizona State at HOF Classic in Kansas City

Maryland will face Arizona State on Nov. 24, 2014, at 7 p.m. as part of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City, Mo., the athletic department announced via Twitter on Wednesday morning.

The tournament runs Nov. 24-25 at the Sprint Center, with Iowa State and Alabama facing off in the other semifinal matchup. A consolation game will be played on the 25th at 7 p.m., followed by a championship game between semifinal winners at 9:30 p.m.

Arizona State is coming off a 21-12 season under head coach Herb Sendek. The Sun Devils were eliminated in the Round of 64 if the NCAA tournament by Texas. They lost two major pieces of their team in the offseason when point guard Jahii Carson declared for the NBA draft and center Jordan Bachynski exhausted his eligibility.

The game will be televised on ESPNU.
