Maryland has secured its second commitment from the Class of 2015 following an announcement via Twitter by Florida running back Deltron Sands.
Sands tweeted the following on Friday evening:
I commit to the University of Maryland #TerpsNation— Deltron Sands #⃣4⃣♏️ (@LegendarySands4) May 24, 2014
A three-star prospect from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Sands also held offers from schools that include Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Syracuse, and South Florida. He joins offensive lineman E.J. Donahue as the two players now representing Maryland's 2015 class.
By the time Sands makes it to campus, Maryland will have a crowded rotation in the backfield. Brandon Ross and Albert Reid will be seniors, while Wes Brown and Jacquille Veii will be juniors.
Head coach Randy Edsall tweeted a popular officially unofficial confirmation of the commitment on Saturday:
Lot of #marylandpride today!— Randy Edsall (@RandyEdsall) May 24, 2014
