Three-star defensive lineman Keiron Howard of Potomac (Md.) has committed to Maryland, his high school program confirmed via Twitter on Sunday night.
Congratulations to Keiron Howard on his commitment to the University of Maryland!— Potomac Wolverines (@PotomacFootball) June 9, 2014
The 6-3, 293-pound becomes Maryland's sixth commitment from the Class of 2015 and its third over the weekend. West Virginia quarterback Gage Shaffer and Maryland athlete Ty Johnson also committed to coach Randy Edsall's program over the past few days.
Howard chose Maryland over a host of other schools including Tennessee, Cincinnati, New Mexico, and others.
Maryland's defensive line--and the defense as a whole--will be a veteran bunch for the program's first season in the Big Ten in 2014. But when Howard is scheduled to get on campus in 2015, many of the major contributors will have graduated.
Among those who will have departed are Darius Kilgo, Keith Bowers, and Andre Monroe.
