Maryland target Allonzo Trier has been named to the Team USA U18 roster, the national program announced in a release on Sunday afternoon.

Trier is one of twelve players selected to compete June 20-24 at FIBA Americas U18 championship in Colorado Springs, Colo. The team is coached by Florida head coach Billy Donovan, along with assistants Ed Cooley (Providence) and Sean Miller (Arizona).

Trier, who recently announced he would be transferring from Montrose Christian (Md.) to Findlay Prep (Nev.), has been dominant in the AAU season so far this spring. He has averaged 29.4 points per game on the Nike EYBL circuit on his way to helping Athletes First (Okla.) to the Peach Jam title tournament in July.

Maryland has been hard after Trier in search of a scorer who can make an immediate impact to replace graduating guard Dez Wells in 2015.

He is arguably the best scorer in the class and could be plugged into Maryland's system as the featured offensive option, were he to make his way to College Park.
