Following a strong showing at Nike's EYBL event in Hampton, Va., the recognition keeps coming for Maryland target Esa Ahmad.
Ahmad has been invited to attend the NBPA's Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, Va., which takes place from June 17-22, his AAU program announced via Twitter on Tuesday. The annual camp brings together some of nation's top talent for a springtime showcase.
He averaged 14 points per game over four contests this past weekend, furthering the continuing battle between Maryland, Ohio State, and others for his services. Ahmad has shown the ability to play both inside and outside, making him a versatile scorer for his size and a difficult player to defend.
Maryland's pursuit pushes forward, and bringing Ahmad in for a recent visit has made the Terrapins "really move up" his list, he told CSN.
"They just want to bring in good character people and they see that in me," Ahmad said on Saturday. "They were the first to realize how talented I was, so it's big for me."
