Maryland rising sophomore linebacker Abner Logan has been suspended for the remainder of the spring semester for a violation of team rules, head coach Randy Edsall announced at practice on Wednesday as reported by a number of media outlets.

Logan recorded 37 total tackles in 2013, including a breakout performance against Clemson on Oct. 26 when he recorded 15 tackles.

The 6-1, 235-pound linebacker is a native of Massachusetts and is expected to contribute in a linebacking corps that was severely weakened by injury last season. Among those returning to the group in 2014 are Matt Robinson, Cole Farrand, and Yannik Cudjoe-Virgil.

Maryland's 2014 Spring Game is scheduled for Friday, April 11.
