The home of Maryland basketball and a host of other sports at the university since 2002 is being rebranded.
According to a release from the university on Monday, the Comcast Center will be renamed the XFINITY Center, effective immediately.
“We have enjoyed a longstanding and successful partnership with Comcast for more than a decade, and are excited to extend this relationship with the renaming of the XFINITY Center,” Maryland athletic director Kevin Anderson said in a statement.
“It is our goal to continue to provide our fans with a special gameday experience, and we look forward to unveiling new amenities at the XFINITY Center in the near future.”
The rebranding will take place at no cost to the university or athletic department, according to the statement on Monday.
