Maryland preseason practices don't begin until Aug. 4, as the program announced this week, but head coach Randy Edsall is already out at training camp -- in the NFL.

He tweeted a tip of the cap directed at the Buffalo Bills, are holding camp in upstate New York.

Edsall is a graduate of nearby Syracuse University, which sits about 90 minutes east of Rochester. One of his former players, Connecticut wide receiver Marcus Easley, is looking to make Buffalo's roster in 2014. He was drafted by the Bills in 2010.

One other player Edsall could get another look at? Wideout Sammy Watkins. The former Clemson Tiger lit up Maryland by catching 14 passes for 163 yards last season. He was selected No. 4 overall by the Bills in this year's draft.
