Csnbaltimore.com. Joining me now is Sports Illustrated columnist Jim Trotter who obviously has been following this situation the whole way. And Jim such an interesting column from you about the players secret lockout insurance. And perhaps that could've been a catalyst to get these talks. Moving faster and at a more rapid pace just this week just Stephen as soon is on Thursday. What is your understanding of how that situation. Worked itself out. Well I don't think it was the only factor I think it was just the contributing factor for the truth to -- and sort of getting just started again you know. On Wednesday night the -- sport and a real good what is the most expert about whether or not -- gonna call. And I think at that point that you know the players is a couple other cards on the table and I'm one of those cards is that. If the owners truly believe that the players were going to break once they started missing games to explode but again. That steps have been taken to protect. The players financial interest -- I'm -- that's what I think it was a brilliant move by more stress and if. And what's your feeling now as far as how happy are both sides. As to what they have come to agree it's thus far. -- to I think it's too early stated either side is happy I think that I -- will come when the deal actually done. You know they're still bubbling over over the lesser issues now. And you know at -- I just kept me -- there's -- signed agreement there is no agreement so. I don't think -- -- I would characterize things right now -- as good as being happier or. More. You know war leading anyone's belief that this thing is over you know there's still some artwork to be done my understanding. Is that the timeline for that they have bad -- likely that the lawyers will work through the weekend. Continuing to -- language. And then on Tuesday I don't know what besides me. In Minnesota -- judge -- and at that point they would -- status settlement. Under the shouldn't -- but they were presented a settlement agreement. And at that point the court that I'm off on it after that and the owners would have to vote on it would probably would come Thursday and the players would have to vote on it. And the union -- -- at some point after that you know hopefully if a responsible if the lockout lifted it -- back a bit. Let's say this is done. Completely ratified in the next week or so -- let's say ten days. Does free agency and automatically start the very next day or that our. -- -- -- You know to be -- I don't know I think basically that is built between the among both sides that I heard a lot of speculation. And being a lot of things and it. But I don't know that that anything has has been agreed to this point in terms is that you know I would think you would have at least. But they're two to sort of prepare yourself. But at this point I would expect He started immediately wants both sides I'm. Well on the field. Well Jim we really appreciate your time thank you so much for talking to us. And here's to hoping we have a 2011 season coming to us in. Oh we well I know -- full speed and what was believed and I'm I'm really stronger in my belief that this honestly don't have -- well. I thanks to him you get out.
